I favor the Motion which ends ASP's archiving of personal shares moving forward.


In addition to the comments already given by others I'd add that continuing to archive them would make ASP distinctively different than all the Al-Anon Groups around the world where records of recovery meeting shares are not kept based on principle.


At a time when Al-Anon is trying to figure out where on-line Al-Anon meetings fit within the fellowship (or don't), continuing our archiving process puts ASP in stark contrast with the will of Al-Anon as a whole. If we wish to be fully welcomed as an Al-Anon Group sometime in the future we will need to act like one now. Acting otherwise could result in less recognition, not more, hurting our primary spiritual aim of helping others recover from the effects of alcoholism.
