Biz-Pal,
For starters I'm repeating below a portion of the report I gave in May's
Business Meeting since it still holds true:
- - - - -
This month we are once again placing calls for service in the Business
Meeting for a Secretary and a Treasurer. I can only hope that some
business meeting members are moved to serve this fine group in these
essential positions. Beyond that it is my hope that the BM can
contribute ideas which may improve our many members' willingness to
fill
our service positions.

One thing sure: we can not much longer endure heaping all the group's
responsibilities on just a few shoulders. It's just not the way Al-Anon
does things.

Business Meeting Topic Suggestions Received:
~ Create/Revive an Al-Anon announcement page on ASP's website.
~ Address the 6-month ASP participation requirement for Greeter service.
~ Address the 6-month ASP participation requirement for Topic Chair
service.
~ Change the Business Meeting cycle from every other month to quarterly.
~ Create an ASP Sponsor List.
~ Create a Newcomer Week [or day?] for tips, Q&A, resources, ESH, etc.
ASP's Steering Committee (SC) continues to feel that filling vacant
service positions is job number one - the most pressing of the issues
affecting ASP. Other topic suggestions, however worthy, will have to
wait a while.
Consequently this month's agenda focuses on our service needs. We will
once again we will be placing call to service announcements for the
vacant Secretary and Treasurer positions. These essential positions need
to be filled in order to keep ASP working smoothly.
Additionally the SC recognizes that filling our Greeter and Topic Chair
positions is increasingly difficult. Requests have been received that we
consider the possibility of lowering the ASP participation requirement
from 6 to 3 months. More to come when this topic is introduced.
Participation is indeed the key to harmony. Please consider standing for
the service calls which be following later today.
In service,
Jerry H., LA
