Hi All, I totally agree that the time for being a member of ASP should be
quite a bit less than what it is now.  If 6 months is the decision of this
group, so be it.  I would cut  it down to 3 months or less.

Also, I would send the requirements out to the main group when a request
for participation is made.  The greeter position in any group  should be of
minimum requirements.

I have observed over the past few years that ASP gets less response to
filling positions because of the intense requirements put in place,
possibly by former "founders" whomever they were.  Maybe it is time to
change that strict policy attitude... and that is totally possible..

o me, it is healthier to lighten up and do away with all these "rules" and
be more open like Al-Anon, nice, commonplace, welcoming, helpful and kind.
Maybe then you will get more members volunteering to serve ..who will learn
as they participate.  Other groups do this, why not ASP?

BTW, I once offered to serve in a position here and was turned down because
I was 2 days short of the "rules" although I had well over 40+ years in
Al-Anon on many service levels at that time.  Wowser!  What a turn-down.
