I am willing to lower the Greeter requirement to 6 months in ASP or 3 months in ASP with 6 months of other service in f2f Al-Anon

Based on my experience in Al-Anon, I think service helped me recognize it wasn’t “me against the world” and that I wasn’t so unique that I couldn’t help set up chairs. So I think service early is important. I think that those who aren’t ready, won’t volunteer. 

Also, while the Greeter position here is clearly more technical than setting up chairs or opening a door at a f2f meeting, I don’t see that necessarily as a barrier. With a clear description of the position and clear instructions, and training and support - all of which we have for this position - I think that those who volunteer have what they need to be successful. 

I think we should take into account service in f2f for all the positions at ASP, not just the Greeter. I believe that the  ...spirit .... behind the idea of service is to not only help others, but to also help ourselves deal with our neighbors and the world. To me, this Idea does not change between f2f and ASP or any other online / phone meeting.
