[Businessmtg] Motion #20 lowering requirements

Hi everyone!

I motion lowering to 6 months.

The reason is that now I've been apart of this group for over 1 year.  I
took a chair that just ended with the past change.  I've been apart of al
anon for years but not fot that long in this group.

What I've noticed is majority of the people in ASP are newcomers.  They
have never been to an al anon meeting f2f or anywhere.  They are learning
from us.  Many don't know there are service positions or understand what it
means.  Many don't know about sponsors or how al anon works.

This group is expanding big time as the internet is a normal part of
people's lives which is a good thing to connect with people that need al
anon, just like we do.

I do believe encouragement and explaining how things work would help the
new people but yes not everyone is going to be ready.  Lowering
requirements offers the newcomers to find their place and learn new things
about al anon.

Just giving an outside opinion on this from what I've noticed being apart
of this group for not that long.  I got a lot of messages every week as a
chair with people just lost on the basics of al anon.

One of the things I enjoy about al anon is that we can try something and
change it if it doesn't work because it's a learning experience.  I've been
apart of f2f business meetings that we change layouts, etc then if they
didn't work, we changed them again.  So I'm open to change to figure out
what works for this group.
