Thanks to all in steering committee for your service work.
I am a "double winner" ; therefore cannot offer my service to the steering
committee. thanks for this question and the answer.
I do service work as I can in various F2F meetings, and within here ,but I
really like to remain under the radar as much as possible. (I recognize
this as a growth opportunity as well) I do not like "spotlight" type
work. (speaking/social comittees social gatherings)
I go where my HP leads me when it comes to service work. I am just now
learning, how to have healthy relationships with other human beings. If I
go to fast in this process, it sets me back greatly.
Service work to me, is volunteering to be of service when I feel the
"nudge". Not from a sponsor, not from anyone else per say, but when I feel
the "nudge" from my HP. That being said, it can be from my HP through
another person. Figuring out what the "nudge" means, teaches me how to
say "no" to people (when boundaries are being crossed or I need to say No
) and "Yes" to areas where I need to volunteer BC it's what I"m being led
to do. Service work is a healthy process within relationship building and
'm beyond grateful to be a part of this process.
It's never perfect and there is always a lot o doubt on my end (am I going
to say the wrong thing?, am I going to offend someone?, what If I do it
wrong? what if I hurt someones feelings?) Even right now, I"m worried about
revealing that I'm a double winner. Because there is that EGO part of me
that holds on for dear life. However, "the doubt & the ego" - push me to
listen and feel for the service "nudges." It creates a self awareness that
I would never have learned outside of all of the rooms and within ASP,..
I know that when my eyes get wide, my ears are opened and I feel a a little
healthy anxiety, it's a "nudge." A "nudge" to gently move my feet forward
into service work, and learn that connectivity is what drives us forward in
healing.
Laurie
