[Businessmtg] role of service in keeping Al-Anon and ASP healthy

It was brought to my attention that I do not have sufficient ASP leadership service to qualify for the treasurer position. It seems to me that since no one who attends the business meeting either qualifies or is able to volunteer to serve, perhaps it is time to call a meeting of the potential qualified pool of candidates and see if any of those members are interested. My guess is that many who are qualified don’t realize that they are qualified, don’t know the requirements, and perhaps don’t recognize that these positions need to be filled. 

Or perhaps we need to consider changing the criteria for service or at least making the process and criteria more clear to all at the business meeting. This is not a welcoming process and certainly like nothing I’ve ever experienced in Al-Anon or any of the many other non-profits in which I have served.
