Hi Business Meeting,

When I attend a face to face meeting and there is a call for service, no
one leaves the meeting until members fill the positions. If a member does
not unlock the door at f2f, or there is no chair or treasurer, etc.,
unfortunately, the meeting closes.

It seems there have been many months of needing service positions filled at
ASP and they remain empty. Yet the meeting continues.  What message does
this send to ASP members?

I see a few possible options. First, based on Tradition 4, we could have a
group conscience to allow trusted servants to temporarily hold more than
one position, if they are willing, until the positions are filled. This
would correct the current situation which does not work with our
Traditions.

Second, in my opinion, the larger membership, and namely those eligible to
serve, need notification of the dire circumstance that ASP is currently in
with lack of trusted servants.  The hope is someone will step up to serve.

Finally, the only other options I see are to change the service
requirements for ASP or close this meeting.
