I have been in Al-anon 29 years and ASP about 6 months. This is the first
ASP business meeting I have attended. Considering the size of ASP, I was
shocked by how few members are attending. In fact, I didn't attend the
previous business meeting because I *assumed* it would be packed.

It looks to me like you've painted yourself into a corner with the vacant
Secretary and Treasurer positions, and some compromise will have to be
reached. But I have a long term suggestion to offer. I apologize if I'm
mentioning something that has been already beaten to death, but it seems to
me that we need to first get the members to attend the business mtg. Then
get them into service and then into leadership positions.

The reading on Tradition 7 in Courage to Change, Page 251 talks about a
meeting being fully self supporting in its service positions. I'm proposing
that when the chairs change for the next year that the Tradition & Concept
Meeting be changed to Traditions only in this rotation: Seventh Tradition,
12 Traditions, Seventh Tradition, 12 Traditions. That would give you 4
chances in the next 6 months to get the word out and let the members know
there is a problem.

In face to face meetings, all the members know the basket is going to be
passed and that leadership is also supposed to be passed every so often.
