List Administrator's Report, September 2019

ASP is struggling through an extended period where we have no volunteers
stepping forward to fill our essential vacant service positions. The
strain being placed on our officers who are having to fill multiple
roles to keep ASP running is beginning to show and support from the
membership is badly needed. 

I'm including portions of the reports I gave in May's and July's
Business Meetings since they still hold true:

 This month we are once again placing calls for service in the Business
Meeting for an ASP Secretary and an ASP Treasurer as our primary
business. Both of these positions are absolutely essential to ASP
functioning well and we've been in a "make-do" posture for far too long.


I can only hope that some business meeting members are moved to serve
this fine group in these absolutely essential positions. Beyond that it
is my hope that the BM can contribute ideas which may improve our
members' willingness to fill these service positions.

One thing sure (more sure than back in May or July): we can not much
longer endure heaping all the group's responsibilities on just a few
shoulders. It's just not the way Al-Anon does things. 

* * * * * 

ASP's Steering Committee continues to feel that filling ASP's vacant
service positions is job number one for the September Business Meeting -
the most pressing of the issues affecting ASP. Other topic suggestions
we have received*, however worthy, will have to wait as we try to get
ASP's service arm in order.  

Please consider standing for the service calls which will follow
shortly.

  ~ Address the 6-month ASP participation requirement for Topic Chairs
(Jerry H.) 

  ~ Have a Trusted Servant session for service experience testimonials
(Veronica P.)
