I believe guidelines are good to provide 'framing for the structure '. The
SUGGESTED 6 month prerequisite is good, to gain familiarity with the ASP
rhythm.

Like Gail, I was chairing at my f2f within a month of  being part of
Alanon.  I jumped in the deep end to chair because I knew it would help my
recovery.

I think if we continue to be flexible on a case by case basis and fall back
on the World Service Office and Alanon..."the only qualification for
service is a willingness to serve" we will be fine.

I deeply appreciate the opportunity to chair here at ASP. I am also
grateful that it is for a 6 month term. I will always want to chair because
it truly helps me do in depth research for my recovery as well.

Thank you Steve and other dedicated long time members you have created the
best Alanon meeting I have ever been a part of.
