Hello! I'm new to the business side of things, so please forgive my
ignorance.
First, I'd like to clarify with Steve since Anna mentioned it. The LA and
Secretary positions are currently being filled by him -- so Steve -- are
you doing fine with this and would you like to continue playing these
roles? Or would you like to pass the baton for a while?
And to the group -- if Steve is okay continuing these roles does it violate
any Al-Anon principles to allow him to do so?
If he's interested in taking a break, then I like the idea of splitting the
job up like the greeters. However, is the steering committee the group to
do it? Don't they already play a role? Didn't they sign up expecting to
have certain responsibilities and now we are adding more?
Seems to me, having an LA Coordinator would be best. That way we can ask
for 7 "Email Volunteers" (or whatever you want to call them). This will
give members additional opportunities to serve and the Coordinator could
serve as back-up, trainer, troubleshooter, go-to person for things the
volunteers are unsure about.
Sorry to add another element/idea to the pot -- overall splitting up the
task seems like a good idea so's not to overwhelm anyone.
