Hi Linda,

While Anne can probably better speak to what has occurred in the last couple
of years, and the effects of COVID, on our membership, I did do a tally on
the new members joining ASP a few years ago.  FWIW, my tally also noted who
the greeters were, which was informative since just a couple of the greeters
did 90% of the work.  That's another story that speaks to the effects of
having more people on the committee than are needed.  

Historically, the greeters have been the primary source of new blood on the
Steering Committee.  I thought it was especially unfortunate that the two
gals that did almost all the work in that period also got burned out in the
process instead,

What I saw from the data below is that ASP seemed to experience for a few
years after 2006 when we transitioned, then held roughly steady until 2015
when growth exploded.  I can't say for certain what happened in 2018-2019,
but we know we experienced another explosive influx of new members in the
last year due to the closure of face-to-face meetings.

I always enjoy seeing the numbers and I noticed a remarkable difference
recently, which I am wondering is due to the pandemic and the temporary
closure of so many face-to-face meetings.

I'm curious if these months are more in line with the way it "used to be"
before this past year?
