Hi Lynne,
I'll leave it to Kelley to respond with actual numbers.
However, I have it in my notes that during the height of the pandemic, The World Service Office was making a big deal about the number of Al-Anon members that were joining the new Al-Anon app. I thought it was particularly interesting because ASP along was getting roughly 1/3 the new members as WSO was getting with their new app. I don't know about you, but I was impressed that ASP was getting such a large number of new members RELATIVE to WSO. Maybe I shouldn't be. Afterall, ASP rated higher on a Google search than WSO for roughly 20 years.
In last Wednesday's Webinar, WSO talked about how there are currently 489 electronic meetings (all types: email, chat, phone, Zoom, etc), with new ones being added daily. Yes, that's 489 electronic meetings worldwide. From what I was able to gather, a large number of those meetings are Zoom meetings that started up when face-to-face meetings were shut down. It seems now that many of those Zoom meetings want to continue as Zoom meetings in spite of the fact that their parent meeting has resumed meeting face-to-face. Apparently, some of them wish to continue as both.
For example, my face-to-face home group shifted to Zoom very early in the pandemic. Our little town in the boonies is very popular with retirees, so we have an unusually high old:young ratio. Several of our members are really old folks - older than I am and I'm 75 - who were afraid of going back to face-to-face, so we didn't do so until this July. For reasons I don't fully understand, one of the members is bringing a tablet to the meeting and setting it up so others can call in. I haven't been there since mid-September because of our travels, so I'm not sure what the current situation is. I'll know more tomorrow night.

Thanks Kelley!
Do you know what the average new member requests per month was before the pandemic? Are we back to “normal” enrollment now?
Hugs,
Lynne
