Hi ASPers,

 

It is time to conclude the November Business Meeting.  

This month's meeting has been awesome - we have elected two members to the
Steering Committee starting in January.  Anytime we rotate the List
Administrator position is a significant event at ASP.  The List
Administrator is the primary leadership position at ASP and has more
responsibility than any other position, along with matching authority for
the responsibility.  The two are joined at the hip.  

And we elected a Group Representative for the first time in history.  Not
just ASP history, but the first time in history that online Al-Anon
"meetings" finally became Groups and allowed to elected Group Reps, who will
gather in just a few weeks to elect the first online Delegate to the World
Service Conference.  Alison has big shoes to fill - her own.

Lastly, faced with a negative prudent reserve, the prospect of significant
current expenses and probably changes in our future financial obligations,
the membership of ASP reached a strong consensus that the responsible thing
to do is to delay our regularly scheduled donations to WSO, for the near
future at least, until we have reached a group conscience regarding both our
Prudent Reserve and how we will instruct our treasurer to distribute funds
in excess of our Prudent Reserve.
