[Businessmtg] Business Meeting discussion

Hi ASPers,

We have only heard from 10 members in our discussion.  That's only 1/3 of
the 30 members attending the Business Meeting. 

An important part of my job as the Chair of the Business Meeting is to
ascertain the consensus of the meeting.  That's very difficult to do if
2/3's of the members are silent.  

Concept 4 tells us "Participation is the key to harmony."

Which means that your job is to participate.  Al-Anon service is not a
spectator sport.  

Maybe you're a bit confused.  If so, then ask questions.

Maybe you're challenged by the arguing between Jerry and I.  OK, but did you
notice that nobody screamed at the other, and we worked out our differences
in a healthy way.  That's one of the things we get to do in Al-Anon service.


Maybe you're new and you don't understand it all yet.  Then, do you support
the Steering Committee and go along with its recommendation?  

Please note that when it comes time to vote, your vote counts the same as
anyone else's.  

So, what happens if you don't vote?  That counts the same as a no vote at
ASP.  The same is true for an abstention.  

We are changing topics on Monday, so this is your chance to speak up about
deleting the Web Master, giving the job to the Secretary, and giving the
Secretary the OK to appoint an assistant.
