Hi friends.. I am lagging a bit behind in my updates.  Starting with the
Group Representative work first..  I have listed some key updates, I am
happy to answer questions or provide more information where I can.

 

There has been lots of activity (and emails), the area officers have been
meeting regularly and  recently shared that they plan on having an Area
meeting "soon" - no date yet.

 

First, the GR's were told that the Al-Anon Global Electronic Area (AGEA) has
been officially recognized as such at the Spring Area Assembly that took
place earlier this year.  Our Group delegate, Ozzie attended, his notes to
the GR's after attending the Area Assembly included an update on the
progress being made by the team.  I pasted his letter into the end of this
email.

 

The Global Electronic Area leaders have also gotten the Area bank account
setup along with a mailing address.  They are still working through all of
the expense details, so nothing to share re: operating expenses yet.

 

Also, the Area (AGEA) now  has a members website for the GR's.  Several GR's
have been interacting through this site with questions about how groups
manage their 7th Tradition activity and questions about how others manage
their meetings.  

 

****PLEASE NOTE THAT I WILL FOLLOW UP ON THE ELECTRONIC MEETINGS THAT
PARTICIPATE IN THE AGEA, I WAS TOLD IN JANUARY, THAT THERE WERE NO HYBRIDS.
IT IS WORTH ASKING AGAIN*****

Dear friends,

 

We are so grateful to all of you! It has been a while! Please know that we
have been patiently waiting to write to all of you and show you our immense
gratitude! So much has happened since our last assembly, and so much that we
are eager to share with you. First and foremost, we want to assure you that
we have carried all of you in our hearts. We thank you for the honor and
privilege to be your trusted servants.

 

As your delegate, I had the privilege and honor to be present when the World
Service Conference voted on the historical event to include The Global
Electronic Area in this year's 62nd World Service Conference. I would love
to convey, that the WSO, and WSC, are extremely excited and supportive of
this historical moment in Al-Anon's journey.

 

The officers of the newly formed area have been working diligently to create
the structure that is merited for this historical moment. Your chairperson
Rosemary Binder, Secretary Burt Peterson, and treasurer Becky C.H., and I
have been meeting regularly to learn how to serve you best.

 

We will be announcing the dates for our very first assembly soon! As with
the theme of this year's Conference; we are Enhancing Our Recovery Through
Abundance, Unity, And Understanding! I hope you all feel our excitement and
share in this wonderful festive time in the history of Al-Anon. It is truly
a monumental moment worthy of much celebration.

for your Global Electronic Area.
