Hello friends...
In my opening update as Founder and Acting GR earlier this month, I did
share some information about the Virtual Area. I don't have much more to
add other than there are 800 groups registered with this Electronic Area.
I had also mentioned that there is now a dedicated website for GR's and Area
members - I have visited the website several times and I receive the emails
that are generated by posting to the site. There isn't a lot there yet.
The site went live in early June and it looks like somewhere around 300 GR's
have subscribed to the site. I am trying to get a handle on how and when to
use the forum, a lot of the emails that come through are requests for
technical help or email address changes. Side note.. I am grateful to ASP
for supporting and helping our members use other means than the recovery
meeting to get the technical and admin help they might need. Other than
these technical type questions, there have been two other questions posed
since the inception of the group email - one question was related to group
level approaches to members sharing personal contact information and the
other was related to the Area in general about forming districts. I did
not weigh in on either topic. Note: The discussion about districts is on
the agenda Sunday.
I am looking forward to the first official Electronic Area Assembly meeting
- I did provide an overview of the agenda below. As Steve said, I am
representing ASP and input from the bus meeting members is welcomed and
necessary for me to be able to represent the group in the best way that I
can.
First Electronic Area Assembly - excerpts from the agenda.
A date for the Summer 2022 Global Electronic Area Assembly has been set, it
is Sunday, July 31st and will run from 4 to 6:30 eastern time, attendees are
asked to login early so that the meeting can start on time.
The agenda appears to be well thought out with time allotments associated
with each topic. The Agenda includes -
introductions and some "housekeeping" topics, followed by reports from the
Area Chair, Area Secretary and Area Treasurer. The estimate is 30 minutes
for this segment.
Next is the report from our Area Delegate, he has an hour and 10 minutes for
his report. He will provide a detailed account of the WSO meeting that took
place this spring, when our Area was officially voted in and recognized by
the WSO.
The last 30 minutes will be for the GR's and other attendees to participate
in a Q & A session - topics listed here include questions about the assembly
content; how best to form districts and what service might we (GR's) be
interested in - because it is such a large meeting, the input might need to
be done via email after the meeting. An email address is embedded in the
agenda.
I think that is everything but I can provide more detail (maybe?) if you
have questions or comments.
Hugs..
Anne O.
