Hi Missy,

Let's see if this helps. . .

Motion 22 replaced Motion 4; Motion 4 served ASP from 2006 to

Appointed Service Positions;
* Are appointed by one of the Steering Committee members
* One year of active participation in ASP is required
* Details of their duties are not codified by group conscience, but instead
have been established by past practice of ASP
* Steering Committee member is responsible for recruiting, training,
appointing, supervising and if necessary, termination of the appointed
service positions
*  Includes:
     *  Daily Chairs (6-month term)
     *  Greeters (1 year term)
     *  Recording Secretary (not specified)
* All appointed service positions count towards qualification for the
Steering Committee

Elected Service Positions
* Are elected by the membership in a Business Meeting
* Must have at least 1 year of prior service in ASP in an appointed service
position
* Must NOT be a member of AA
* Generalized description of basic duties and responsibilities are
described in Motion 22
* Is expected to participate in Steering Committee discussions and
decisions
* Is expected to adhere to ASP policies and practices as described on the
ASP website
*  Serves for 3 years
* Application to serve on the Steering Committee is made by submitting a
resume form (available on the ASP website) to the Secretary, either directly
or via any member of the Steering Committee

I'm sure that you will notice that our job descriptions of our service
positions are very general vs. being very specific. This is intentional.
ASP needs our trusted servants to provide very basic and generalize service
to ASP. As a result, in most cases, we leave as much latitude as is
possible. However, there are situations, especially for our appointed
positions and the treasurer (because money is involved) where the duties
themselves and how they are carried out is much more detailed.

Love and SERENITY,
Steve
