[Businessmtg] Service requirements and length of service terms

I agree that lowering the length of previous ASP service and attendance requirements for some elected and appointed positions would be helpful in increasing the pool of qualified candidates. The two positions where I would not favor lowered requirements are List Administrator and Treasurer.

A three-year commitment can be daunting for anyone who is trying to live ODAT, whatever the stage of their life.    Perhaps a one-year commitment for Steering Committee positions with the possibility/opportunity for one-year extensions up to 3 years consecutively would encourage more members to volunteer and decrease the number of resignations from the committee before a term is finished.   The only specifically required or even recommended length of service that I can find in the Ali-Anon Service Manual is 3 years for Group Representative.  Other decisions are left to group autonomy.

I am also  in favor or finding a way to include calculating Business Meeting attendance into the equations for eligibility at all levels of service.
