[Businessmtg] FW: ASP GR response to Lynne's questions

Hi Lynne and all,

**The World Service Conference: from page 143 of the current Service Manual
- Al-Anon's annual business meeting, which is attended by all Delegates from
the World Service Conference Structure, representatives from other
countries, members of the Board of Trustees and Executive Committee, voting
members of the World Service Office (WSO) administrative Staff and other WSO
personnel. The Conference provides guidance to the WSO on service matters
that are brought to its attention.

**The Al-Anon International Convention is an annual event that is open to
all. It includes speaker meetings as well as workshops that take place
throughout the day and the weekend. A high level agenda from this year's
convention is still active here
https://al-anon.org/wso-events/2023-al-anon-international-convention/

**Regarding districting, while everyone is anxious to get districts in place
"quickly" we do know that KBDM takes time. I truly hope this can be
accomplished before the end of the year, that is only my personal hope
(likely shared by others). Until we do the GR's are acting independently,
and attending the Assemblies without any DR representation.

Please let me know if I can answer any other questions for you.

Anne

Anne,

Thank you so much for sharing this. What is the difference between the World
Service Conference and the Al anon International convention? Is the former
only open the Area reps and the latter open to the public?

Also, I know the GEA is relatively new and that an extraordinary amount of
work has been done to get it running and to start hashing out how Districts
will be defined. Is there any timeline on when you think Districts might be
put in place? Just wondering if you think this is months or years away?

I'm so grateful to you and all the other GRs who have volunteered their time
on a taskforce or as an Area officer.

Hugs,
Lynne
