[Businessmtg] Alternate Path to the Steering Committee

I am in favor of allowing the current Steering Committee to interview candidates who are interested but do not fully meet the current requirements for service on the Steering Committee.   If they unanimously agree that any of those persons are viable candidates, they may then recommend them (including the qualifications they do have)  to the full business meeting for a vote.   Since the full business meeting will have the final say on whether these candidates are selected, there is still a check and balance on this procedure.   I believe this is very much in keeping with Concepts Three and Four.

I look forward to the later discussions about the requirements for service and length of terms for the Steering Committee positions.  I believe each of these things needs to be addressed before the Steering Committee issue is solved permanently.
