Hi folks,

OK, since the previous post "CMA - 2. . ." was so long, I figure that some
of you fell asleep while trying to read it. So, here is the Cliff Notes
take on the evolution of the Current Mailing Address (CMA) per the Service
Manual.

Back in 1998 the first description of the Current Mailing Address (CMA) was
made in the 1998-2000 Service Manual. It was very simple - the postal
mailing address for an Al-Anon group. The Service Manual noted that the CMA
could be a PO Box, or a member's home address.

Today's Service Manual changes/upgrades the Current Mailing Address (CMA)
into an actual Service Position. Unlike other service positions, the CMA is
required to register a group with WSO; GRs are optional, CMAs are required.
Additionally, today's CMA is expected to receive both snail mail and email,
that the CMA is expected to share the communications they receive with their
group, and that the Secretary may serve as the CMA.

There is no reference whatsoever to the Current Mailing Address (CMA)
serving as a representative of the group in any manner or fashion.

Next, I'll discuss what is happening in the real world of WSO and the GEA.

Love and SERENITY,

Steve
