[Businessmtg] Acting Secretary Report

Hi everyone,

As the Acting Secretary, I recruited a new group of daily chairs, who 
started today and will serve until the end of June. It was a very smooth 
process and I am grateful for all the volunteers.

Our Recording Secretary, Betsy, ended her one year term as of December 
1st. I want to thank her for all her work on the website this last year! 
She did a great job and she was greatly appreciated! I am waiting on 
recruiting a new recording secretary until our website update is 
complete. The SC is in the process of changing how the ASP website is 
hosted and managed. The content will not change, it is all on the back 
end to make it easier to maintain. In the meantime, I will make all 
necessary updates to the current website.

Also, Motion 27 passed at the last Business Meeting. I have pasted the 
motion below. As Acting Secretary, I am extremely grateful to the BM for 
making this change. For me specifically, it will make it more realistic 
to be both the List Administrator and Acting Secretary. For anyone 
interested in the Secretary position, it will also make that position 
more sustainable.

MOTION #27  PASSED

_I move that routine ASP Business Meetings be held on a quarterly basis 
starting in January 2024. Should the need arise for a special Business 
Meeting that cannot wait for the next regularly scheduled Business 
Meeting, the Steering Committee may elect by a simple majority, to hold 
a Special Business Meeting for the sole purpose of addressing said 
single special need. Members of the Steering Committee are not required 
to present their usual staff reports at Special Business Meetings unless 
a specific staff report is directly related to the issue of the Special 
Business Meeting._
