Hi folks,

 

OK, now that I have thoroughly stirred up the pot, I'd like to point out
that our task in this Business Meeting is to take a critical look at the GEA
Task Force recommendations and consider how this might impact not just ASP,
but Al-Anon as a whole.  

 

Are we OK with these recommendations as they were presented?

Are we OK with the GEA taking control of the group's autonomy to decide per
the Service Manual?

Are we OK with the ambiguity and vagueness that permeates the Task Force
recommendation?

Are we OK with the GEA waiting to announce deadlines, meetings, Assemblies,
etc. until the last minute?

Or do we need to direct the GEA to develop a calendar of future events?

 

Remember, that the folks at the GEA are our trusted servants.  Just like the
members of ASP make policy decisions in our Business Meetings that our
trusted servants in the Steering Committee implement, the GR's of the GEA
make the policy decisions of the GEA that the trusted servants of the GEA
are responsible for implementing.  It is not the other way around.

 

What message do we want Anne to take to the Assembly in a week and a half on
January 20th?
