I have read the emails on this topic :) 

For me, approaching Districting as one step at a time in some ways makes sense. One Day at a Time and more will be revealed. Could the GEA have a master plan they are not sharing? Maybe. LOL maybe they don't. I have no control over that part. I realize though that people tell you who they are, and I ignore that at my own peril; so I appreciate Jerry's and Steve's perspective. 

My concerns are that there will be only one Area for all electronic meetings, and that the sorting by language the last consideration. 

With just one Area, it seems like the emphasis is really on face to face meetings in the United States; when realistically, there are many other countries with face to face meetings; and electronic meetings - in any form - are the new normal. I would like to see the GEA and Al-Anon as a whole, take that diversity into account. 

I understand that start time is a way to sort meetings; I think language is a better way to start the sorting. I don't think platform - zoom or email or app or the ways that haven't been invented yet - matters.  Based on my experience, people that are looking for technical assistance reach out in many ways - perhaps that will be to an area coordinator, perhaps that will be to the platform customer service, perhaps that will be to friends, and perhaps that will be to Google and ChatGPT. Especially since each group is the one determine which platform they will be using.
