[Businessmtg] Alternate Group Representative

Hi everyone,

We still have the rest of today if anyone else wants to weigh in on this topic.

Personally, I like Jerry’s suggestion of the Alt-GR having voice but not vote on the Steering Committee, except when he GR is unable to attend to the SC.

And I agree that ASP should have an Alt-GR position.

However, the issue I have is whether we would HAVE to have an elected GR before an Alt-GR before could be elected. Anne is currently the acting GR since no one has volunteered to fill this role. And there are times when she can’t attend Area or District meetings, which means that ASP does not have representation at those meetings. I would hate to see perfect get in the way of good. Are we bound by the service manual? Or as a group, do we have the autonomy to set our own policy regarding this? Something we can discuss next time we bring this next.

Hugs,
Lynne

Nothing I said above ought be construed as negative comments on those who are or have pulled long and stressful double duty in order to keep ASP functioning. Much gratitude is due them all!]
