Dear ASP friends,

 

I am the ASP Group Representative.

 

OUR AREA is the Global Electronic Area (GEA), and we are Panel 62 of the Global Electronic Area.

 

***The WSO defines Panel in the following way Panel—A panel consists of one-third of the Delegates attending the World Service Conference (WSC). A panel is elected every year for a three-year term. The elections of the three panels are staggered so that a Conference always includes one panel of Delegates with two years’ experience. A non-panel Area is one that has not yet joined the Conference. Note that Panels are on a 3-year rotation and the GEA panel rotates out at 

the end of the year and so there will be Area openings that will need to be 

filled at that time.  All Area officer positions should be rotating out; however, no one has stepped forward for the Treasurer’s position.  

 

Tomorrow is the Area’s election – an assembly is scheduled between 10 and 2 tomorrow, I will attend and vote.  Applications are posted to a folder accessible to GRs.

*0 for Area Treasurer

*1 for Area Delegate

*2 for Area Alternate Delegate.

 

DISTRICT NEWS – We are in District 53.  There are 20 groups assigned to this 

district, we have 6 active GRs attending this meeting and hope to see this 

number grow.  The district meets monthly, on the first Saturday of every 

month.  I did not attend in May but did in June, did not attend in July and but did in August.  

We did not meet in September due to personal conflicts and in October we are not meeting again due to the Area elections.  

 

A summary of the August meeting discussion follows and is related to service.

We have 19 groups now, one group folded. Only 8 GRs that we know of assigned to those 19 meetings.  And of those 8 GRs, there are only 4 of us that show up to the district meetings.  We continue to see the same small group of GRs attending the district meetings.  Angel, our DR will continue to try to reach CMAs and may try calling/texting rather than emailing.  The focus this time around will be more personal with connection attempts made one on one rather than a larger group email.  We were reminded that many CMA and GRs that are listed/registered with the WSO are out of date and no longer correct which also creates a challenge for us..  Also discussed that when a connection is made with an individual that “we” ensure we have an up-to-date email address added to our district’s monthly meeting invite/reminder.
