My experience in the Business Meeting and on the Steering Committee is mixed. 

First, I really appreciate the hard work the Steering Committee puts in - especially as multiple SC members wear multiple hats multiple times. 

I find the Business Meetings to be excruciatingly slow. LOL I get why we use the KBDM process but I find it almost painful. A lesson for me to learn, I'm sure.  The recovery meeting is so amazing, I think I compare it in my head to the Business Meeting and really the two could not be more different; even in my f2f meetings the business meetings and recovery meetings have a different vibe.

My experience on the Steering Committee greatly improved when the SC Zoom meetings started. Not to say that I didn't still struggle with communicating using Al-Anon principles; but to me the communication on all sides was more transparent in the Zoom meeting than just through e-mail. I do feel that personalities stand out more in the SC and putting"principles above personalities"  into full practice is key.
