I am weighing in very late on this topic.  I see both sides of the argument
related to the archives - I rarely use the archives, except when the
Steering Committee is asked to review a share that may not meet the ASP
guidelines - and even then, I am a bit of a pack rat and keep shares for too
long.   I am hesitant to remove the archives for the very reasons shared -
there are members of our group that may not be able to participate without
those archives.

 

Anyway, at this point in the discussion, I have not heard enough to make an
informed decision.  I have mentioned before and I will raise it again, the
ASP process is frustratingly slow, BUT it is KBDM in action.  I have seen
firsthand how a LACK of KBDM affects us - as your GR I see the new AREA; the
GEA trample a bit on KBDM.  I am happy to see this topic will move forward
to our next meeting.

 

And I like others, the civility and care taken to discuss our thoughts on
this topic are so appreciated.
