Hi everyone,

During service on the SC, I found the archives of member shares helpful. A
questionable share was brought up my a member of the recovery meeting.  I
had not read and already deleted it from my inbox. I accessed the archives
to read this share and review others by the same person. In this way, the
SC has the ability to review inappropriate content and address
shares/sharers that violate Al-Anon principles.

It occurred to me while perusing the archives, which can be sorted by
person posting,  that it would be a great tool to select a Sponsor.  Seeing
someone's shares all in one place, does this person consistently use
Al-Anon tools and have what I want.

I would also like to mention that we aren't the only online group with
archived shares. Both of the other groups I joined also archive shares
going back years. From my limited experience, it would seem that this is
the norm.

My opinion has changed. At the opening of our last BM I was in favor of
ceasing to archive.  At this time, I'm in favor of continuing the practice.
I'm grateful that our decision making process takes time and allows all
opinions to be heard.

I do think there should be more information provided to newcomers making
them aware of the archives and how to access them.
