Hi Kathleen,

1.  When a member sends a message to the server EXCLUSIVELY, the server
resends their message to everyone in the Business Meeting.  However, when
they send their message to the BM server AND any other email address, the
server will bounce their message as SPAM, send a note to the BM Chair, which
also forces the Chair to log in and clean up the mess.  In other words, when
posting something to the BM please, please address it to the BM and only the
BM.

2.  I don't know how the group will address the new Newcomer page vs the
existing Newcomer page vs hosting one for established members of Al-Anon vs.
total Newbs.  We may well decided to post two versions.

3.  The new Newcomer page that we are discussing now is known to contain a
whole bunch of broken links, typos, mistakes, and so on.  The SC did fix
some of the more glaring problems but did not take the time to proofread and
perfect something that would still just be a draft and open to further
proofreading and wordsmithing.

Please let me know anything that needs fixing, and I'll fix it.  As for
wordsmithing requests?  Some will likely be obvious improvements and be
applied immediately.  Others will be more subjective and additional support
before being incorporated.

FYI, I am going to be unavailable early Saturday through late Sunday, so
please be patient for me to respond this weekend.

I hope to be able to post a current version with all the known fixes LATE
Sunday, as in Midnight or so, Pacific time.

I like the draft version of the page.    I only have a few questions or
statements listed below.

  1.
Will the Newcomers & Beginners to

if we start using the Draft version?

On the draft page in the below paragraph, wouldn't it be the sidebar on the
right hand side?

Books
There are a number of books in Al-Anon that member find useful. They
describe how the Program works through sharing member stories, the history
of Al-Anon, and providing space to do deep dives into Steps, Traditions, and
Concepts Work. Some of the favorites include "How Al-Anon Works" and "Paths
to Recovery" as well as several daily readers starting with Al-Anon's
original "One Day at a Time", followed by "Courage to Change" and others.

Hi folks,

Sorry for the delay; my Tuesday was booked solid so I just got a chance to
get to this.

The gist of it is that I ran across a Newcomer page somewhere, and thought
it was both (a) quite good, and (b) had numerous problems.  So, I started a
draft with a rough copy of that page, then made numerous corrections and
changes to better suit ASP.
