Hello Business Meeting members,
I second Jerry's motion below.
By Traditions, Concepts, and Warranties Al-Anon gives both
a) the assurance of anonymity for members, and
b) its Trusted Servants the tools and authorities to effectively do their jobs.
"That members' topic shares be archived and maintained for Steering Committee administrative purposes only with password protected access limited to ASP's elected SC members and ASP Founders."
Thanks,
Kathleen H

Subject: [Businessmtg] Archives
Biz-Pals,
Left up to me it would be - no archives.
However, having been ASP's LA and having dealt with "problem shares" and listening to other Past LA's comments here I do see merit in at least keeping a temporary archive of topic shares so that the Steering Committee (which by ASP Founding Policy is the sole body with the authority to remove or discipline members or officers of ASP) has administrative access in order to problem solve.
By Traditions, Concepts, and Warranties Al-Anon gives both
a) the assurance of anonymity for members, and
b) its Trusted Servants the tools and authorities to effectively do their jobs.
It's clear to me now that a motion which finds compromise between these two needs is necessary in order to fully encapsulate all Al-Anon Principles as best as we are able. I believe such a compromise is possible, if not perfect. Bold fellow that I am I propose the following wording as a place to start building a consensus:
"That members' topic shares be archived and maintained for Steering Committee administrative purposes only with password protected access limited to ASP's elected SC members and ASP Founders."
Under these terms there may be no need for temporary archives at all. All past and future shares would be kept, accessible by using a password available to sitting SC members ONLY.
Keeping in mind that the IDEAL goal of a consensus is to reach a solution which approaches full Unity, I look forward to your comments which could bring us into agreement.
In service,
Jerry
