Hi Marilyn, and group,

This topic was brought forward as an opportunity for the SC to discuss changes and challenges, that we as a group are experiencing - new bank charges, future changes to our incorporation and an overall increase in expenses.  And while it is true there won't be a vote or any consensus gathering this month, the input from our BM members has been valuable.  I am sorry if this wasn't made clear at the outset.  I think that the lack of donations in recent months may have been somewhat alarming, but through discussion, it seems that this can be resolved by a consistent passing of the basket.

So, essentially this is simply an information sharing topic, that could become something different if a BM member chooses to pursue some of this discussion to make changes. 

Some things that were floated this week....

*Suggested changing the wording associated with the prudent reserve
*Members continue to suggest other methods for making payment
*Adding more tradition 7 info to meetings
*Other?

If, there is a desire to pursue any of the above in future bus meetings, then it needs to be submitted by someone to the SC.  That person then needs to participate in future BM topics that cover their recommended changes.  It would then go through the "change" process outlined on our member website.

Hi everyone,

If I understood Steve's email correctly, the topics we are currently discussing in the BM are not items that the BM will form a group conscience or vote upon? Both how often to pass the basket and adjusting the amount of our reserve to reflect current annual expenses fall under 'implementation of policy' by the SC. They're not 'changes in policy' to be decided by the BM.

This isn't meant to sound critical, but now I'm genuinely confused why the topics were brought up in the BM if they don't fall under the BM purview.
I trust someone can explain what my mind doesn't seem to grasp today😀.
