Since this was addressed to the entire groupI am sending my response
regarding not coming back to correct Steve's statement to the group that the
motion put forth by Emee was out of order is because it was out of order, to
the group as well. According to the KBDM motions are only made when
everyone has had their chance to have input into the discussion. Not
everyone in this meeting has voiced their thoughts or opinions on any of
this. It appears that the discussion is very much alive and very active.
Having a motion put forth in the middle of an ongoing discussion simply
shuts down the discussion and robs others of the opportunity to voice their
opinions or thoughts.
As for the length of time that it will take for the group to come to a
consensus that everyone can live with, I have no idea how long that will
take. I am prepared to wait until we have no more emails coming in on the
topic rather than shut anyone down.
As for there being two people running the business meeting, I am unsure
where this comes from. The chairpersons for the Business Meeting, as stated
in the Welcome Letters you received when you were subscribed to this
meeting, and it is posted on the website as well, states that either the
List Administrator or the Secretary chair the meeting depending upon
availability. Since our Secretary was not available due to an injury I am
chairing the meeting.
Hopefully I have answered both points brought out in Emee's email regarding
her motion.
