[Businessmtg] #2, question: OLA Representative

HI Biz People,
After reading Anne's thoughts on the OLA Rep I have a few questions for Dawn.

When we had our turn-over elections (a year ago?) the OLA position was one of the positions available to the membership, as was the secretary, treasurer, List Admistrator, etc. Each position required a resume and a group vote. I and someone else applied for this OLA position. The other person said that they wanted this position very much so I withdrew my application at that time. After that I never saw any reports or heard any information on what this OLA rep was doing for our group. When I contacted you Dawn, about what was going on with OLA I was told that the Rep had stepped down and that you would bring that up soon at the next business meeting. I guess what I am wondering is why this position was never brough back up to be filled by another member? I am grateful that you stepped up and filled that position as I'm sure there was a great need at the time. You already have one very important position as our Admistrator so perhaps you would consider putting the OLA position back out to the membership?

One other thing, I don't know how we work it on-line but I would think that like regular f2f meetings, a position that may require policy making and voting on issues outside our ASP group level, could not be filled by a double winner. Members please check page 70 in the 2004-06 Service Manual (I don't have my new manual yet). I know we have quite a few dual members of AA in our ASP
Al-Anon group, as they have identified themselves as such. I would not think that these members would qualify for the OLA position. Can you please check this information for me? Thanks.
Emee
