Hi again,I was just asked very nicely whether or not the last share I sent to the business meeting was my opinion or if I could say which Tradition or Concept backed my statement up.  Thank you for the reminder that I was supposed to do that.
 
After reading my email again I think it is pretty clear that this is my own personal experience in service.  Not every detail or situation is going to be listed conveniently on one page in our literature or listed word for word in our Traditions and Concepts. I might find something that backs up my statement if I start reading but I do not have time right now and honestly, I do not want to try and force an issue. Tradition 7 says we are totally self supporting, decling outside contributions.  Joann's offer would not be considered an outside contribution because she is a member of Al-Anon however, my experience and the experience of others who came before me have proved to me why things work better in the long run by taking all expenses from our group's funds. 
 
 Experience counts for a big chunk of good knowledge based decision making. It is a great teacher. Not using that experience can also be a great teacher, I have experienced that as well (smile) - so either way is good I suppose. I am not an expert, I have only witnessed the pros and cons of this very issue and in my humble opinion it is definately better in the long run to have the trusted servant send receipts to the treasurer and be reimburssed by the group.
