Hi All and Dawn & Anne O,
I need clarification because I do not understand what these voting percetages (89%, 5%,5%) are about? Why percentages and not just numbers? I'm not a math wiz but these numbers don't add up to 100%, so what does that mean? Did someone not vote? If that's the case, shouldn't the voting number have come down from 20 to 19 before the calculations were done? Also, what type of motion was the Newcomers packets - was it a Houskeeping motion (simple majority ); a Most motion (2/3); or a Controversial motion (3/4)?

When we began this business meeting Dawn sent out an email with the the following voting proceedures listed.
     a. Housekeeping motions would require a simply majority
     b. Most motions would require a 2/3 majority to achive substantial majority
     c. Controversial motions which would also make significant change to the meeting require a 3/4 majority
I would find it very helpful to have the TYPE OF MOTION LISTED ON THE BALLOT BOX BEFORE VOTING, especially for the next motion. Thanks.

I can't understand any reason for a member of the business meeting not to vote (unless I am missing something). If a member of the business meeting cannot decide on YES or NO, they can vote to ABSTAIN. Not voting at all only makes extra work for our trusted servants. Do we still have 20 voting members?

I appreciate an answer on this voting matter. Thank you.
Emee
