Biz-Pals,

I've got to tell you that I think telling someone
exactly how to do their service to the group sounds
more than a bit unnecessary. Trusted servants are just
that - trusted to make the decisions (with the authority
to make them) as best serves the group and their personal
schedules.

The Concepts aren't there just to peek at and wonder about.
While the group certainly can create limits within which
Trusted Servants are expected to operate, setting those
boundaries in places that removes the decision-making
ability of the TS's - where unnecessary or arbitrarily - 
just doesn't fit for me. I think Kathy and future
treasurers ought to be able to work this out in a way
which works for them, then - if there's a problem as
a result of this - changes could be made.

Personally, I think that the bulk of our funds could
be in our PayPal account with only nominal funds
remaining in our roving bank accounts. PayPal has
a debit card capability so our server payments could
be debited from the same place in perpetuity while
income can be routed through local accounts and then
moved into PayPal. I'm hoping to be able to work out
adding Kathy to our PayPal account and the new bank
account info and get it set up so all Kathy would have
to do once everything is complete is remove me from
access. We'll see if this is as easy as it sounds -
there was some talk about trying this when transferring
the treasury from Steve to me, but as I recall it ended
up being complex enough that he ended up just sending
me a check instead.

Another reason I liked using my local bank was that I
was able to get them to give us a fee-free account. In
these days of free banking for individuals we forget
that business accounts don't often get this benefit.
Not having service fees saved us some coin.

I'll be communicating one-on-one with Kathy regarding my
experience, duty details, and her wishes. With a P.O.
Box in place she can resume Seventh Tradition basket
passing. Meanwhile I'll work on this PayPal account
transfer thing and see how it goes...
