Hi folks,
Thanks Tara and special thanks to Jennifer for making herself available for
this position!
Since it appears that no one else has made themselves available for this
position, I propose that we elect Jennifer to the position of Secretary by
unanimous proclamation as is common practice in f2f Al-Anon as well as here
at ASP. Therefore, I'd like to move:
"Jennifer G. (Galletti) be elected to the position of Secretary by unanimous
proclamation to serve for a period of 3 years."
Love and SERENITY,
Steve

Hi All
Jennifere has sent in her Resume for the Secretary position please read it
and ask any questions of her in the business meeting
Al-Anon Resume for Steering Committee at ASP
Date: November 12, 2009
Name: Jennifer Galletti
Service Position in ASP you are available for: Secretary
Al-Anon Birthday: 2/06___________________________ Years: 3 1/2
ASP Birthday: 2/06_____________________________ Years: 3 1/2
Service Positions held in Al-Anon:
Face-to-Face Al-Anon: Although I attend F2F meetings in my area, ASP is my
home group where I have done my service work thus far.
ASP: Sunday meeting chairperson
Online Al-Anon other than ASP:
Why would you like to serve ASP in this position? I would like to serve not
only to contribute to ASP and provide a service, but to further put into
practice the tools I have learned in Alanon. I have read that by
volunteering to help in service work will also help me to learn to love
unconditionally. I hope to learn that although I may not always agree with
the many personalities that are presented, I will learn a higher level of
loving and caring. I also hope to branch out in the ways I have grown and to
discover new aspects of myself through service. Additionally, I look forward
to experiencing that as I learn to give more of myself, I will find that
there are more parts of me to give in the future. Albeit, these reasons seem
a bit selfish,,but I really believe that what I will gain will come full
circle and I will be able to give more than I ever imagined.
What changes would you like to see in ASP?
In general: For the majority of the time, the daily chairpersons are timely
when posting their meeting. On occasion, meetings have been absent for a day
and then posted on the subsequent day, leaving two meetings posted on one
day. Although I understand that personal events can interfere with a daily
post, a possible solution may be to appoint a "substitute chairperson" who
the standing chairperson can contact if he/she knows they may not be able to
post for their day. Albeit, this is not a habitual or serious problem.but
there are days that some people really look forward to or are in need of a
daily share.only to find that there has not been one posted._
Specifically regarding this service position: I believe that my
responsibility as secretary of ASP is to carry out the duties of my position
within the current group practices, policies and conscience without changing
the way ASP works to suit my own personal needs or opinion. Naturally, I
would bring my own style into my position but not my own personal agenda.
As the Secretary, my primary responsibility would be to lead the business
meetings in a fair & impartial manner while following the Traditions,
Concepts and group consciences, etc. As the primary alternate to the List
Administrator, my responsibility is to learn the technical and
administrative procedures necessary for ASP to exist as well as work with
the List Administrator on the leadership ASP.
What changes do you NOT want to see occur at ASP? I do not want to see
changes regarding the guidelines of "cross talk", use of non-CAL literature
and the policy regarding anonymity. The guidelines regarding cross talk and
anonymity provide a healthy degree of flexibility without being too rigid
providing an atmosphere in which individuals can learn more about balance
and boundaries. The guideline regarding anonymity allows individuals the
ability to share some very difficult parts of their lives with the comfort
of knowing that they are in a safe place.
How do you feel about the current guidelines at ASP?
The current guidelines protect both the participant and the group as a
whole, as well as those in service positions. The guidelines are fair and
balanced, while providing a reasonable degree of flexibility as well as
structure. Most importantly, the guidelines aim to keep the focus on the
traditions, concepts and steps of Al-anon which discourage topics unrelated
to issues of Al-anon.
Do you have technical or other experience that you feel is significant for
this position?

Describe your concept of how much time you have available to serve ASP and
how accessible you are to the other members of the Steering Committee and
the general membership of ASP.
I take my dedication to Alanon and ASP very seriously. I rarely go a day
without checking my ASP mail and when asked for ESH I respond as promptly as
I can. I would treat the needs of this position in the same manner.
Any thing else that you would like to say . . .
Simply, I would be sincerely honored to be of greater service to ASP and
Al-Anon.
