Dear Business Meeting Members,

 

The job of the List Administrator appears to be a daunting task, and an
intimidating one.  At times I have found it to be both, however most of the
time I have found it immensely rewarding and I have been blessed to work
with a fabulous team, Tara as Greeter Chair/Secretary, Jerry as Treasurer
and Anne as Web Master.  They have been supportive and encouraging in my
time as LA.

 

I have just caught up on all the shares that have been submitted to the
business meeting and am somewhat surprised that no one has thrown their hats
for the position of LA.  There isn't anything I can add to what has been
said about the tasks of the LA.  

 

There has been several comments about how to fix the problem of no one
stepping up to the task - too much work, time, splitting the duties, etc.
What has not been addressed is the elephant standing in the middle of the
room - the elephant being no one being willing to take the risk of stepping
up for the position of LA - a position I might add that will be supported by
myself and others who have been standing beside me.  

 

Perhaps that time has come to reflect on the lack of interest in being of
service to this meeting - a time of personal reflection as well as members
of the Business meeting.  There is a lot of talk about being self-supporting
and we all take that to mean financially, but what about being
self-supporting by having members being willing to be of service to the
group.  

 

The time is now to be serious about this and to look at the issue rather
than trying to fix a position that isn't broken.  I would encourage each of
you to think about what you want from this meeting and how it has helped
each of you to grow and change and perhaps you want to look at upping that
growth by taking on this task, with the support of those who have gone
before you.
