Hi ASPers,

A note regarding things like the job descriptions for each officer position,
the resume form, ASP policies, past group consciences, etc.

One of the features of ASP that separates it from other meetings, both
online & f2f, is our transparency.  We have maintained great web site that
is chock full of information about all these issues, and more.

This serves three important purposes:

1. It prevents a veil of secrecy.  Abuse of power requires secrecy to
function and continue.  By eliminating secrets, we've made it very difficult
for anyone to abuse power.

2. It gives every member of ASP the opportunity to read about any & all of
these issues at their leisure.  Individual members of ASP can peruse the web
site and learn a great deal about both ASP and Al-Anon in general.

3. It relieves the trusted servants from having to answer the same questions
over and over and over.  ASP usually has 200-300 members, and about a third
or more of those members come and go every few months.  It places an unfair
burden on our trusted servants to expect them to provide personal
explanations for routine inquiries from members about the many facets of
ASP.

So, when you've got questions regarding this or that about ASP, please refer
to the web site.  If the information you find seems incomplete, well that
could be intentional.  We have a history at ASP of trying to be flexible;
simple descriptions & policies give us that flexibility.

Thanks for listening.

Hugs,

Steve
