Hi ASPers,
We are NOT talking about publishing the full names of candidates for ASP
officer positions on the PUBLIC ASP WEB SITE as was described in the
Guideline posted by Emee.
We ARE talking about requiring that any member of ASP wanting to make
themselves available to serve as an officer must identify themselves by
their true name to the members of the ASP Business Meeting.
It is quite common for f2f Al-Anon to publish the real name, address and/or
phone number of Al-Anon leaders in newsletters. While those newsletters are
intended for Al-Anon members exclusively, there is nothing that prevents
them from being read by non members. My Area not only mailed out hard
copies of the newsletter, it also posted PDF versions online.
As long as f2f meetings, Districts, Areas, Intergroups, etc have the right
to know the real identity of their trusted servants, so do we.
Hugs,
Steve
