Service Position in ASP you are available for: Greeter Chair

ASP Birthday: August 2007 Years: 2.6
Are you a member of AA? No Years: _____

ASP: Greeter
Online Al-Anon other than ASP: None
Why would you like to serve ASP in this position?
I enjoy my job as greeter and have learned a lot in service to ASP. I am able to fulfill the duties of Greeter Chair. I would like to recruit and train additional greeters. I'm currently "flying solo" as the only greeter and would like to share the responsibility with others. It's a terrific service position. I would also like to participate on the steering committee. I think I'm ready to assume a greater degree of responsibility and I want to continue to give something back to this group.
What changes would you like to see in ASP?
In general: I have no specific recommendations for changes.
Specifically regarding this service position: We copy a lot of people on our correspondence with potential members. When I was joining, I thought this was invasive. As a greeter, I do it because it's the process, but I'm not sure if it's necessary to copy 4 additional people on routine correspondence.
What changes do you NOT want to see occur at ASP. I like the structure of the meetings. I like that issues are handled outside of the recovery meeting. I want to keep it a closed meeting.
How do you feel about the current guidelines at ASP? I agree with all of them. I don't see a reason to change the guidelines.but I also don't know what, if anything, is going on behind the scenes.

Do you have technical or other experience that you feel is significant for this position?
I currently work in an Information Technology department. I could serve as a back-up List Admin if I were trained and the situation warranted.
Describe your concept of how much time you have available to serve ASP and how accessible you are to the other members of the Steering Committee and the general membership of ASP.
I check in at least one time per day. My current greeter duties take from 5-20 minutes per session. I do not find this commitment difficult to maintain. I read the meetings and the shares daily. This is the second business meeting I have attended. I have on-line access 24/7. J
It's only fair to tell you that I currently live with an active A. Therefore, sh** happens. As the lone greeter, occasionally people have to wait up to 24 hours to get a response to their inquiry. That's the longest response time. Generally, I get to them the same day.
Any thing else that you would like to say . . .
Thank you for your consideration.
Peace and serenity,
Cheryl
