Biz-Pals,

While I've tried to present the information we

needed to make our decision(s), I have yet to sit

separately from my Treasurer role and ponder

the topic as an individual, so...

When any opportunity comes up which adds to

my associations rather than detracts I'm pretty

certain that this is in some small way a hint

from my Higher Power. I've heard it expressed

as "Continuous Improvement." [Another WSC quip?]

Even were there no driving force behind ASP

incorporating - and that is not to be neglected -

putting ASP on a permanent and secure footing

is such an improvement. It may not level all

playing fields, but it would put ASP in the

position of saying what it is (already done,)

doing what it says (already doing,) while following

as precisely as possible the rules and laws of

the land(s) while still following our Traditions.

Anything short of full and honest representation

of who/what we are in order to cut corners or

red tape would be unacceptable. We have been

brushed into a corner by changes in laws and

regulations. The way out is, to me, obvious.

We need to move our organization on in a manner

which ackowledges and accepts this understandable

new level of scrutiny and file for incorporation

as a non-profit org.

I have had the though of suggesting that founder Steve,

who is of the age and inclination to reside permanently

in one place (settled in) to house our corporate home.

I would not have made the suggestion though and am grateful

he has made the suggestion himself. I can think of no

other one member more suitable, nor any other who

has demonstrated a greater commitment to on-line Al-Anon

in general and ASP in particular. I hear Washington State

is nearly as beautiful as this great state of Michigan

so that helps too ( :-)

The treasury would travel in one fashion or another

with rotating servants, but our home would not move.
