Hi ASPers,

The Secretary is an officer of ASP and as such, there is a short list of
minimum requirements to be eligible to serve in that capacity:

1. A member of ASP must have served ASP in some other service capacity for 1
year in addition to any other minimum qualifications for ASP Officers.

2. Members of Al-Anon who are also members of AA are not eligible to serve
as officers of ASP or on the Steering Committee.

Is it required that the Secretary be a member of the Business Meeting.
While not a specific requirement, I'd be concerned about electing someone
that will serve as the Chair of the Business Meeting who doesn't attend the
Business Meeting. it's very difficult going on impossible to elect someone
that's not here since they need to be here to submit their resume.

OTOH, if you know someone that is qualified for the position AND would like
to make themselves available for it, then I'd suggest you ask that person to
send their resume to Denise ASAP.

The duties of the Secretary are:

    * Chairs the Business Meeting
    * Responsible for the Daily Chairpersons in the ASP meeting
          o Appoints Daily Chairpersons to 6 month position
          o Instructs/trains Daily Chairpersons
    * Alternate List Administrator #1

Love and SERENITY,
Steve

Subject: Re: [Businessmtg] Business Meeting topic

Is the secretary only coming from among the business meeting members, or is
there to be an email asking for resumes in the general meeting?

Have there been any resumes submitted so far?  I think filling the spot is
crucial.  We don't want Denise to be overburdened!  Having a co-worker
become a no-show is not fair to the existing volunteers.

Thanks,
Melanie
