[Businessmtg] Funds over prudent reserve

I have only been attending the business meeting here at ASP recently, and I only just now read the previous business meeting agendas/results; so I was really surprised that our excess funds over the prudent reserve are *not* going to the WSO.  I assumed (and maybe shame on me here) that like an f2f group, our excess funds went to the larger Al-Anon organization (local / state / national).

I'm not sure on what kind of support we expect from the WSO - and having not been a GR in an f2f, I am also not sure what kind of support the WSO gives to individual groups. But I think that discussion may be beside the point here - it reminds me of when I tried to help out my sister financially and I wanted to pay a particular bill or two directly and she wanted me to let her decide how to use the money. We had a short discussion on trust and control. LOL  


I agree that we should figure out what our prudent reserve and excess funds actually are, and send the excess to the WSO.  I also agree with Sandie that if we feel that the WSO could do something different / more with regard to online groups, then maybe we need to have that discussion with the WSO - again if that is the case  :)
