Thank you Jerry, you seem to
get your thoughts on paper so clearly & effortlessly! Thanks to everyone
else who has shared...it seems that most of us so far are in agreement about
sending funds to WSO.

 

 I agree that a projected
yearly budget for ASP is an excellent idea. If we are no longer providing
newcomer packets then that service should be put on our agenda to be
discontinued, and then possibly removed from our expense sheet. If
we are going to provide the service then we need to allow for this expense in
our projected PR each year.

 

I like the idea of having an
(on-line meeting) room at the international convention and would like to know
more about this. If this is something that follows our Traditions then I would
agree to help support a room in the future.

 

 

I agree with Jerry that if
time is available, we should be able to discuss more than one agenda topic per
business meeting. One meeting-one topic, every two months, doesn't allow us
proper time for all the issues that need to be put on the agenda. An example
would be that we would have to discuss the issue of the newcomer’s packets, or
a projected PR before we would know how much we need for our group. Presently,
we know we have way more than we need. 

  I look forward to finally having our finances in order.  I also stopped sending financial contributions when I realized how much excess money we had just sitting around. Once this distribution of funds takes place I will resume my contributions.

 One last thing; I have an issue with the control that the steering committee is imposing on us/me.  We are told
that if we have an issue not to bring it to the group, but to bring it to the business meeting  for dicussion & a group conscious. When I
presented an issue about the wording of our Welcome Statement to the steering committee, I was told it would not be put
on the agenda nor brought to the business meeting for discussion.  This seems so wrong to me…the steering
committee is not supposed to be God.  Our leaders are but trusted servants, they do not govern. How can we have a group conscious if something is not allowed on the agenda?  And now that I have said this, I fear I will
be put on MONITER status, or worse.
