All,

One of the things that struck me this morning is that a lot of us seem to be
wanting ASP to abide by decisions made several years ago when things have
changed significantly since then for a variety of reasons. In my personal
life I know that if I try to hold myself to decisions that I made several
years ago, I'm setting myself up to fail. My life has changed in the past
few years and I am a different person so it would be silly to hold myself to
those decisions. When I find myself in this situation, I have to stop and
look at where I'm at today and use today as a starting point instead of
several years ago.

In my mind, it only makes sense that ASP would do the same thing: stop and
make decisions based on where we are today instead of treating decisions
from several years ago as gospel. Yes we may have agreed to do welcome
packets and didn't do them. Yes we may have agreed to send money to the WSO
and might not have done that. So what? We are all in recovery and we know
that life changes and sometimes we need to regroup and start from scratch.
We talk every day about doing the best we can at any given point in time.
I'm sure the Biz and SC at the time those decisions were made had the best
of intentions and that they did the best they could at the time. Life
changes and if we don't have permission to beat ourselves up individually
when life changes, why should we collectively beat ourselves up because life
changed?

My recommendation to the group is that we agree to disregard those old
decisions and to start from where we are now.

Brightest Blessings,

Raine

Life is to be lived magnificently and gloriously

And just one day at a time
