FYI - all Financial Information is posted on Al-Anon WSO's web-site .
www.al-anon.alateen.org and the 990s are public records.
The Conference Summary from 2012 and all prior years is posted on the web-site.
Each quarter a quarterly appeal letter from the World Service Office is sent to the CMA for every registered Al-Anon Group including the electronic meetings. I have never seen this posted on our web-site and we should be advising our members of it.
Every month a "Forum" magazine is mailed to the CMA of every registered group in Canada and the U.S. along with every registered electronic meeting
-
Every month a newsletter is sent from the WSO to every registered group who has a e-mail address including the electronic meetings.
A consensus is a general or widespread agreement among all members of a group. It does not mean that everybody has to agree - from all of the e-mails there is definitely widespread agreement that the funds should go to WSO.
The Secretary has said that some individuals are preparing to send something but we haven't heard from them - it is totally improper that someone can hold up a decision just because they do not chose to voice their opinion. I believe that there are approx. 22 people that are involved in the meeting and of those we have only heard from 12? (I could be mistaken as I didn't double check my counting)..
I just find it incredibly frustrating that a minority will hold up discussion and decisions!
